Outbreaks of rain will spread in from the northwest during Saturday afternoon and last through Sunday before finally clearing away on Monday morning. The rain will be persistent and heavy at times with accumulations 40-60 mm developing quite widely. Across high ground totals during this event could exceed 100 mm. Strong southwesterly winds are also possible at times.

Persistent rain across parts of southern and southwestern Scotland will be particularly heavy at times during Sunday, before easing from the north by the end of the day. Much of the warning area will see 50-70 mm of rain, whilst parts of the Galloway Hills and other areas of the Southern Uplands could see 110-130 mm of rain. Strong and gusty southwesterly winds will likely exacerbate conditions.
