Early morning rain pushes away to leave sunny spells and scattered showers, these heavy at times with a risk of hail. Strong winds to start, slowly easing by evening although remaining gusty around showers. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Clear spells give way to an organised band of heavy, blustery showers pushing in from the west overnight. These mostly clear by dawn with winds falling light. Minimum temperature 7 °C.
Thursday:
A dry start with sunny spells before Storm Austen pushes in from the southwest during the afternoon. This brings wet and windy weather, reaching gale force at coasts overnight. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Storm Austen continues affecting the region for most of Friday, clearing to scattered showers by evening. Further rain and wind likely Saturday ahead of a drier interlude on Sunday.
