Rise in carbon dioxide off track for limiting global warming to 1.5°C
The increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) is now incompatible with IPCC pathways which remain below 1.5°C, a Met Office study finds.

A rather murky night with cloudy skies bringing hill fog across the Moors. Mild for most but feeling chilly in rural parts of the southwest beneath slightly clearer skies, with a localised frost possible. Winds remaining light for all. Minimum temperature 0 °C.
Cloudy in the east, where the odd spot of drizzle may be felt, brighter further west with occasional sunny spells. Remaining fine and settled, although feeling cold beneath grey skies. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Dry on Sunday but mainly cloudy, before patchy light rain arrives on Monday and Tuesday. Some brighter breaks also developing by day, but feeling chilly, with overnight frosts in places.
