Cloud and rain in the southeast soon clearing, with sunny spells in the west developing more widely. A few showers are likely, these becoming more frequent, heavier and blustery from mid-afternoon. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Scattered to frequent blustery showers feed in from the northwest through the evening and overnight, these showers heavy at times. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Wednesday:

It will be quite cool and blustery with bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, these heavy at times. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Quite cloudy with some showers or longer spells of rain on Thursday, becoming drier later. Largely dry, bright Friday with variable cloud. Dry, bright start Saturday, then rain spreading east.

Changeable and at times rather unsettled conditions look to dominate at first, with low pressure often close by. This means periods of rain or showers, some of which could be heavy, for many places, though some drier interludes are also expected. As this period progresses, high pressure is likely to begin to build from the south bringing more in the way of settled weather. Temperatures likely cooler than average to begin, but tending to recover as the period progresses, perhaps becoming rather warm by the end of the period, especially in the south.

Patterns which bring more settled weather are more likely to dominate towards the end of May. Whilst further rain and showers are possible at times, there is likely to be longer spells of fine and dry weather. Into June, more mixed conditions are likely with spells of rain and showers, but also some drier weather at times. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above average overall, with some warm weather possible at times.
