Rise in carbon dioxide off track for limiting global warming to 1.5°C
The increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) is now incompatible with IPCC pathways which remain below 1.5°C, a Met Office study finds.

Most dry and rather cloudy, with best of the limited brighter spells expected east of Lough Neagh. Temperatures a little down from yesterday, but still above the seasonal averages. Southerly winds occasionally freshening across the coast. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Vast majority staying dry. Rather cloudy but some cloud breaks developing towards dawn. Southerly winds occasionally fresh across the coasts. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Some early brighter spells but cloud soon increasing with light rain reaching western districts mid to late morning, which extends to the rest of the Province during the afternoon. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Monday rather cloudy with showers developing in the south, but some limited brightness expected in north. Tuesday and Wednesday mainly cloudy with some patchy rain about, but also drier interludes.
