Early rain on Wednesday then brighter with a few showers. Breezy with a few showers on Thursday. Further rain likely on Friday morning, followed by showers. Mild.

Changeable conditions are expected, with Atlantic frontal systems spreading across the UK, interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Rainfall will typically be heaviest in the northwest, with much less reaching sheltered eastern areas. Some snow is possible across high ground in the north. Drier and more settled periods perhaps become more prolonged later in the period, especially in the east. Winds will probably be strong at times, with a risk of gales. Temperatures are likely to be near to or slightly above average.
