A somewhat cloudy start then bright or sunny spells developing. Mostly dry in the morning but the odd shower is possible. Rain likely to spread into eastern counties through the afternoon, heavy at times, staying drier in the west. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain, mainly over eastern counties with the west generally drier. Staying rather cloudy overnight but the rain largely fading out by morning. Minimum temperature 15 °C.

Friday:

A quite cloudy start but bright or spells developing through the day. Mostly dry but the chance of a few showers developing. Becoming quite breezy around the Antrim coast. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Rain or showers at times, perhaps heavy and thundery. Occasional drier and brighter spells. Light or moderate winds, likely freshening on Monday.

Likely remaining unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain across all areas at times. Rainfall amounts will probably be above average for the time year across many areas with the wettest conditions in the northwest. Potential for some strong winds at times. Some drier and more settled interludes could develop, perhaps becoming longer in duration across southern areas later in this period. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.

Signals are fairly limited from mid-September onward. At first, probably a continuation of a changeable regime with the wettest conditions in the northwest and longer drier interludes in the southeast. However, the distribution of rainfall soon becomes very unclear though compared to earlier in the month there is a greater chance of more prolonged settled/dry spells. Temperatures likely varying around average with some warm spells likely, especially in the south.
