Variable amounts of cloud and some bright or sunny intervals along with a few showers. Showers will be occasionally heavy, especially across the west. Colder than of late. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Some late brightness this evening and a few showers. Becoming dry with clear periods overnight across all parts. A cold night with a slight frost in sheltered glens. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Friday:

A dry morning with some early brightness. Then outbreaks of rain will spread northeast in the afternoon and evening. Becoming windy with southeasterly gales along exposed coasts in the evening. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Sunny intervals and the chance of a few showers on Saturday, but some dry weather too. More in the way of showers on Sunday and Monday.

Changeable at the start of this period with low pressure to the west or northwest of the UK. This will bring showers or longer spells of rain at times, heaviest and most persistent in the northwest together with some strong winds. The southeast is likely to be driest and brightest. Later, conditions may become drier and more settled, especially in the north and east, but parts of the south and west may still see some showers or longer spells of rain. Temperatures will likely be near to or slightly above average.

Blocked patterns with high pressure near to the UK will probably be dominant during this period with a good deal of dry weather across the UK as whole. Some unsettled interludes could develop at times, especially in the south, where rainfall amounts could be above average at times. Temperatures will probably be near to or slightly above normal, although some cold nights are still possible.
