Mainly dry in the southeast at first, otherwise bright or sunny spells and a few scattered showers through the day. Winds will be moderate west or northwesterlies. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Most places will be dry with clear spells this evening and overnight, although a few light showers remain possible at first. Turning rather cold with light winds. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Saturday:

A cold, clear start with risk of frost. Then remaining dry and settled through the day with plenty of sunny spells and some patchy cloud. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Dry and settled on Sunday with sunshine. Partly cloudy on Monday with some sunny spells, before turning more widely cloudy on Tuesday with the risk of patchy rain.

There are growing signs that high pressure, which is likely to still extend across the country at the start of this period, will reduce in its influence through next week. This will allow a more unsettled regime to develop as spells of wet and windy weather arrive from the Atlantic followed by drier though still showery interludes. While there is still a chance that high pressure will build near the UK again during late October, it is more likely that a changeable regime will continue once established. This would see temperature varying around average with some milder spells, especially in the south.

Weather patterns dominanted by westerly or southwesterly winds from the Atlantic are most likely during November. This resulting in occasional spells of wet and windy weather followed by drier but still showery interludes. High pressure may attempt to build across the country at times but any settled spells are most likely to be short-lived. Temperatures are likely to be near or above average overall.
