It will be a dry day and mostly cloudy. There is a chance of some bright or sunny intervals breaking through with these mainly in northern and central areas, staying most cloudy near the coast. Light winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

It will be a dry evening with a few clear intervals, but mostly cloudy. Staying dry overnight with overcast cloud. Light winds. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Friday:

Little change with another dry day to come and staying cloudy with very isolated brighter spells, these most likely in the north. Winds strengthening along the coast this evening. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Mostly dry and cloudy on Saturday with a little light rain possible later. Cloudy on Sunday and Monday as rain spreads north-eastwards, rain heavy at times. Winds strengthening on Saturday.

A rather unsettled pattern is likely through much of this period, as low pressure systems originating over the North Atlantic trundle east or northeastwards across the UK. These will bring showers or longer spells of rain, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times, but also interspersed with some drier and brighter interludes, albeit these generally of shorter duration than the recent settled spell. Later in the period, there may be a transition to a slightly cooler and more showery northwesterly regime, as high pressure builds over the Atlantic to the west, and low pressure becomes centred to the east of the UK. Temperatures are likely to be near or slightly above average overall, although may trend slightly below normal later

It is likely to be changeable at first, with a showery northwesterly regime most favoured across the UK. Into November, an unsettled pattern is anticipated, as low pressure systems over the Atlantic track across the UK. These may be shifted farther south than normal, bringing showers or longer spells of rain fairly widely, perhaps also accompanied by some strong winds at times. Temperatures will probably be close to or slightly above average overall.
