Rain clearing the far east early Sunday morning. A few brighter spells emerging behind but mixed with blustery showers, which could be heavy and perhaps locally thundery during the afternoon. Milder than Saturday. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

A continued risk of showers through the evening and overnight, these chiefly in the west. Chilly where skies clear, but remaining frost free for most. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Monday:

Variable cloud and bright spells on Monday with occasional showers, these locally heavy and banded together to give longer spells of rain. Showers easing later, with a frost possible overnight. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

A bright but crisp start on Tuesday, skies turning hazy into the afternoon with outbreaks rain likely from Wednesday, risk of some hill snow. Rain and sleet clearing on Thursday.

Showers or longer spells of rain, as well as occasional strong winds, are most likely at first as Atlantic low pressure systems dominate in the vicinity of the UK. Some heavy rain is likely in places, with some snow probable at times, mainly on high ground in the north. Temperatures varying from around, or a little above, average especially in the south to cold at times, mainly in the north. Although unsettled weather is likely to dominate at first, there will be some drier interludes between weather systems. These drier interludes will become increasingly likely and perhaps more prolonged through the period.
