Remaining unsettled with further rain at times.

This Evening and Tonight:

Outbreaks of locally heavy rain continuing to clear eastwards this evening, with localised flooding possible. Becoming drier overnight albeit a few showers. Turning rather murky over high ground with hill fog in places. Winds easing. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Tuesday:

Murky to start in the east with some drizzle in places. Turning wet again from the west with a heavy band of rain pushing eastwards. Breezy, especially along the coast. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Wet with further rain or showers, heavy and prolonged at times, giving the risk of further flooding in places. Turning colder but brighter by the end of the week.

After a briefly quieter spell, associated with some colder conditions, Atlantic frontal zones look to make a return near the start of this period. The track of these depressions may be a little further north than over the preceding weeks, but will continue to bring broadly unsettled weather to many areas, with further spells of rain and perhaps strong winds at times. With the westerly influence, it should become somewhat milder for many, though there remains the chance that colder conditions could affect northern and northeastern parts from time to time.

Broadly changeable conditions are expected across the UK during this period. Low pressure systems will probably dominate, meaning showers or longer spells of rain, heavy at times, for much of the UK, and still the chance of some hill snow in the north. Some drier interludes are likely, though it must be said, flooding impacts remain possible given recent very wet weather. Windy conditions look probable from time to time. Temperatures probably close to or a little above average overall, with a reduced chance, compared to earlier thinking, of a late season prolonged cold spell.
