Showers continuing in the west but easing by dawn. The east will see showers later in the night, some being heavy and thundery. A mild night to come. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Wednesday:

More showers developing by later morning into the afternoon. Some being heavy but fading quickly. Brighter spells developing later. Warmer than Tuesday. Maximum temperature 27 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Changeable weather with spells of heavy rain, some thunderstorms and strong winds. Brighter intervals and scattered showers at times. Temperatures mostly near normal, feeling warm and humid in places.

An unsettled start to this period, as showers or longer spells of rain are possible across many parts of the UK. Some heavy rain is likely, perhaps with some thunderstorms too. It will likely remain changeable into early September, with rainfall amounts probably above average for the time year and the potential for some strong winds at times. However, some drier, more settled interludes could develop at times. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or hot spells are possible, especially in the south.

Further into September, drier weather may become more prevalent, especially in the south and southeast, with any more unsettled conditions tending to become more likely further north and northwest.
