A dry start to the evening with clear spells. Showers returning through the night which could become heavy at times during the early morning. Most places staying frost free. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Wednesday:

A day of sunshine and blustery showers, some of the showers heavy with the added risk of hail in places. Chilly, with temperatures below average. Windy for many. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Staying unsettled on Thursday with some showery rain, and brisk winds. Drier and brighter on Friday and Saturday, with winds easing. Temperatures staying below average for the time of year.

Changeable and at times rather unsettled conditions look to dominate through the middle part of May, with low pressure often close by. This means periods of rain or showers, some of which could be heavy, for many places, though some drier interludes are also expected. Initially temperatures likely cooler than average, but tending to recover, perhaps becoming rather warm by the end of the period as it tends to become more settled, especially in the south.
