The odd shower is possible in the north this evening, but most places will stay dry with increasingly prolonged clear periods overnight. Windy this evening but winds easing overnight, and turning rather cool in some rural spots. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Saturday:

Any showers in the north soon clearing. Thereafter a dry day with sunny periods. Still a little breezy but much less windy than on Friday. Warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Any showers clearing on Sunday, then sunny spells and feeling much warmer. Perhaps a little rain overnight, then largely dry on Monday. Windier on Tuesday with rain or showers possible.

Changeable initially, with some dry interludes and relatively cool nights, interspersed with occasional outbreaks of rain or showers arriving from the west, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times too. However, a trend towards more widely settled conditions seems likely from around next weekend and beyond, as high pressure becomes increasingly influential in the vicinity of the UK. This should lead to longer, drier interludes, especially in the south and southwest, with any rain or showers more likely towards the north and east. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, though still with some relatively cool nights at times.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may eventually start to weaken its influence on the weather towards the end of September. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
