Today:

Eastern areas of Wales will be sunniest on Monday with western areas often much cloudier. Here the cloud could give the odd drizzly outbreak, mainly in the northwest. Light winds however and feeling warm in the east. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining cloud in the northwest but clearer in the south. Mist developing under clear skies in the south. A chilly night with grass frost possible. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Tuesday:

Cloud remains in the north but lifts and breaks through the day. Brighter in the south with more sunny spells. Another warm with temperatures above average. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Turning much wetter in the north on Wednesday with some heavy rain but staying mostly dry further south for the next few days. Temperatures return to average.

Atlantic weather systems will continue to bring spells of rain, showers and occasional strong winds. The wettest and windiest conditions are most likely across northern and western areas, although wet and windy weather may extend more widely at times. Between these unsettled spells, periods of drier and more settled weather are likely, especially in the south and east, where they may last for a few days. Temperatures are expected to be slightly above normal overall, but overnight fog and frost is possible during clearer, cooler nights.

Through October, changeable and occasionally unsettled weather is likely to become more frequent, with spells of rain moving in from the Atlantic. Between these periods, drier and brighter interludes are expected. As is often the case for October, deeper areas of low pressure may also bring periods of very strong winds, especially across the north and west. Temperatures are expected to remain slightly above average overall, although brief cooler interludes are possible.
