Tonight:

A chillier night to come, especially under clearer skies with light northerly winds. More in the way of cloud with a risk of showers along the west coast. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Saturday:

A bright start to Saturday, with long sunny spells but turning cloudier throughout the afternoon. Temperatures remaining around average for the time of year. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Again, plenty of sunshine on offer to start on Sunday, before turning cloudier with some welcome rain to southernmost areas through Monday into Tuesday.

There are growing signs that high pressure, which is likely to still extend across the country at the start of this period, will reduce in its influence through next week. This will allow a more unsettled regime to develop as spells of wet and windy weather arrive from the Atlantic followed by drier though still showery interludes. While there is still a chance that high pressure will build near the UK again during late October, it is more likely that a changeable regime will continue once established. This would see temperature varying around average with some milder spells, especially in the south.

Weather patterns dominanted by westerly or southwesterly winds from the Atlantic are most likely during November. This resulting in occasional spells of wet and windy weather followed by drier but still showery interludes. High pressure may attempt to build across the country at times but any settled spells are most likely to be short-lived. Temperatures are likely to be near or above average overall.
