This Evening and Tonight:

It will be a very warm and sunny end to the day in the east. More cloud is likely further west, and although staying dry overnight most areas will turn fairly cloudy. Some fog patches developing. Staying warm, and humid. Minimum temperature 16 °C.

Tuesday:

The north and west of Wales will see a rather cloudy day with patches of hill fog and some drizzle. Elsewhere skies will brighten to reveal some warm sunshine. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Sunny spells and perhaps the odd shower on Wednesday. Mostly fine thereafter, though feeling much fresher. Damp and breezy weather arriving from the west on Friday night.

Following a fine couple of days in the run up to this period, away from the far northwest where more persistent rain is expected to develop, a transition to something more unsettled countrywide looks likely. Cloud and rain associated with an Atlantic frontal system and area of low pressure is likely to sweep south and east, with rain always most persistent on western hills whilst some eastern areas in shelter could see warm and humid brighter breaks. Likely turning cooler and more showery later in the weekend and into next week, followed by a changeable pattern with further areas of cloud and rain and brighter, more settled spells in-between. Temperatures are likely to be around average overall, with an increasing chance of warmth in the south as the period progresses.

Changeable conditions with a predominantly northwest to southeast split in temperature and rainfall, and the potential for further occasional episodes of hot weather and thundery outbreaks, are considered likely to gradually give way to something more settled and dry overall through the second half of July. Temperatures are likely to be above average, with the greatest chance of very warm or hot spells in the south or southeast.
