Cloudy today with outbreaks of rain and drizzle where the cloud thickens. Low cloud will bring some early hill fog, but this should lift into the afternoon. Some brighter spells are possible in Anglesey through the day. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Low cloud will continue to bring showery outbreaks of rain overnight, and some fog over the hills too. Staying frost free under the blanket of cloud. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Monday:

A cloudy and grey start with some showery outbreaks of rain. Skies will brighten a little later on with some hazy spells of sunshine. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Patchy cloud and sunny spells on Tuesday, and the odd shower. Turning increasingly windy thereafter with spells of rain and scattered showers, and some brighter interludes too. Near normal temperatures.

This period will continue to see the UK located at the interface between high pressure across Europe and low pressure over the North Atlantic. As such, north western areas will likely see the focus of spells of rain at times, along with stronger winds, whereas south eastern parts should see more in the way of drier interludes, though even here, some rain is expected from time to time. Temperatures should overall be a little above average for most areas, though there are likely to be times when it will be cooler too, bringing a risk of overnight frosts.

The start of this period could see unsettled conditions fairly widely across the UK, with spells of rain and strong winds affecting many areas at times, although western areas likely remain wettest. Then, whilst confidence in the details is low, there is the potential for weather patterns to become slower-moving by late March, bringing more settled and drier conditions . Overall, temperatures will probably end up near to average, though there are indications of a cooler spell near the turn of the month.
