A grey start with some drizzly outbreaks at first. Turning drier as the day goes on, perhaps with some brighter spells at times. However, staying mostly cloudy through the day. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud lingers at first with some showers in the south. Clearer spells will develop through the night. Staying dry and fairly mild. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Tuesday:

Dry on Tuesday but largely cloudy. A few brighter spells are possible at times. Temperatures around average for the time of year. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Staying largely dry and cloudy over the next few days, although the odd shower is possible too. Some bright spells likely on Friday. Turning cooler.

There is a lot of uncertainty in the evolution through this period, more so than normal, but overall it would appear that a rather unsettled theme is most likely. Most places are therefore likely to see some rain or showers at times, but also some drier, brighter weather. The emphasis on wetter conditions may be more towards the south at first, with low pressure perhaps more likely towards the south of the UK, before shifting further north later in the period as low pressure becomes more likely to set up to the north of the UK. Temperatures are likely to be near normal in the south throughout but on the cool side in the north at first before recovering to around normal later.

Low pressure systems are likely to dominate across the UK at the start of this period. This means showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, heavy in places, with the wettest conditions probably towards the northwest. There will, however, probably be some dry and warm interludes, these more likely towards the south, although temperatures are likely to be close to normal overall. Later in the period, more settled and drier conditions may develop, as high pressure potentially establishes itself to the north or west of the UK, with temperatures perhaps rising a little above normal, especially in the west or northwest. Should this happen, eastern parts may be on the cool side with a predominant flow off the North Sea.
