Most places will have a dry day. There will be some sunshine at times, though cloud will tend to increase for a while bringing a chance of the odd very light shower. Feeling pleasantly warm when the sun appears. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

Clear spells this evening, though cloud building into the early hours of Saturday which could give patchy rain in the north. Temperatures just dipping into single figures in rural areas. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Saturday:

Bright spells on Saturday morning, but generally clouding over from the northwest, with some showery rain developing, perhaps locally heavy. Light winds, allowing fog to form in prone locations overnight. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Mist and fog to start on Sunday, clearing to give sunny spells. Some bright spells on Monday and Tuesday, though often fairly cloudy. The odd spot of light rain possible.

Cloudy with some rain in the far southeast and heavy showers in the far north, but otherwise a good deal of fine and dry weather at the start of this period. This will quickly change as weather systems move in from the Atlantic at the end of next week and over the following weekend. These will bring spells of rain or showers to most areas, heavy at times (especially in the northwest) with some strong winds. Into the middle of the month, similarly changeable conditions are most likely, with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems interspersed with some drier, brighter spells. Temperatures will likely be near to or slightly below normal at first, maybe becoming warmer later.

The second half of October will probably maintain a changeable pattern overall with showers or longer spells of rain often moving in from the Atlantic. This means the wettest and at times windiest weather is more likely in the west and northwest, and relatively drier conditions more likely towards the south and east. With a westerly type considered most likely, this would support temperatures remaining close to or a little above average overall. However, there is a chance that more slowly evolving weather patterns develop, which could either lead to longer drier spells more widely or rainfall accumulating in climatologically drier areas.
