Any lingering rain in the east quickly clearing, leaving a blustery day with a mix of sunshine and showers. The showers will be heavy and possibly thundery, before easing later. Warm in the sunny spells, but breezy. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Showers continuing through the evening, but becoming lighter and gradually easing overnight. Staying breezy, rather cloudy and mild across the region. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Wednesday:

Largely cloudy at first on Wednesday, but some brighter spells developing at times. A few spots of rain possible where the cloud thickens. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Turning drier, brighter and warmer through Thursday. Very warm on Friday and Saturday, although some thundery showers are possible at times.

Saturday will be warm with some showery weather and even a chance of thunderstorms in places. Then by Sunday and through Bank Holiday Monday, warm and fair weather is expected to prevail. Through the following week, high pressure is expected to broadly remain in place for much of the UK, and fine weather is likely to continue for most of the country. There may be occasions where low pressure to the north may bring some brief spells of rain across northern parts, but in general fair weather will dominate. Temperatures are expected to be above normal, feeling very warm at times with light winds.

High pressure is likely to continue to bring fair weather for most at first. Rain and showers are still possible at times, mainly across Northern Ireland and Scotland. As we head towards mid-June, more mixed conditions are likely with spells of rain and showers. Drier weather is expected between any bouts of wetter weather. These drier interludes will tend to last longer across the south and east of England. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above average overall, with some warm or very warm weather possible.
