Fog in the east clearing, then mostly fine today.

Today:

Sunday will start chilly with dense fog in the east, though brighter with the odd coastal shower elsewhere. The fog will gradually lift, leaving a mostly dry day with sunny spells in the afternoon. Pleasant enough in the light winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

It will stay largely dry overnight. There will be clear spells. However, fog and frost is likely to re-form in the east, whilst it turns cloudy and breezy further west. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Monday:

Fog and frost should clear readily in the east on Monday, leaving bright spells. However, expect a strengthening easterly breeze, and patchy rain could develop in the far west. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Cloudy with rain at times on Tuesday, accompanied by a southeasterly breeze. Further rain on Wednesday and for a while on Thursday, before turning clearer and colder later.

High pressure will initially dominate, leading to widely settled conditions and overnight frost. A few showers will be possible, particularly in northern and western Scotland, and perhaps along some North Sea coasts for a time. Later in the weekend, a transition to more unsettled conditions is expected as bands of rain, and associated areas of low pressure, arrive from the North Atlantic, bringing more widespread wet and windy weather. It is likely to remain fairly changeable through the remainder of the period, with occasional rain interspersed with brighter, showery spells. Whilst colder conditions will be possible at times, especially at first, it will often be mild, with temperatures near or a little above average for the time of year.

Changeable or unsettled conditions are expected through the last part of November. Atlantic frontal system are likely to spread across the UK, bringing some heavy rain at times and a chance of strong winds. Drier, brighter interludes are likely between systems, and it is possible conditions could become drier overall into early December. Temperatures are likely to be above normal overall.
