Any lingering rain quickly clearing, with bright or sunny spells developing throughout the morning. Turning cloudier with rain arriving by the evening. Feeling fresher with temperatures nearer to average. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Early rain clearing then largely dry on Tuesday. Mostly fine and dry on Wednesday and Thursday, although patchy rain may arrive late Thursday. Temperatures perhaps a little below average.

Changeable initially, with some dry interludes and relatively cool nights, interspersed with occasional spells of rain and showers arriving from the west, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times too. A trend toward some longer dry interludes between systems as we head toward mid-September, but at this stage a return of prolonged dry, settled weather looks unlikely. High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may eventually start to weaken its influence on the weather towards the end of September. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
