Largely clear and dry in the east overnight, though remaining cloudy in the far west with a continuing showers for much of Cornwall and Devon. Remaining breezy in coastal regions. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

A bright start in the east, with showers fading in the west as high pressure moves in. A widely fine day, with sunny intervals and light winds. Frost likely overnight. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Turning milder and changeable from Wednesday, as bands of rain move in from the west bringing unsettled conditions. Winds picking up towards the weekend with blustery showers possible.

Some heavy rain or showers are expected, most often in the west, although with a risk some of this could spread to other areas at times. Snow will probably be confined to high ground in the north. Periods of strong wind are possible, especially around coasts and if any deep areas of low pressure form in the vicinity of the UK. Some short-lived spells of drier weather are possible, particularly in the southeast. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly above overall.
