Today:

Cloudy start with any early mist or fog slow to clear. Staying cloudy for many areas, with some light showers possible over Kent and East Sussex. Perhaps the odd brighter interval, mainly in the west. Light winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Any evening cloud breaks will be short-lived and most of the night will be cloudy with mist and fog patches forming. Dry inland but coastal drizzle is likely. Light winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Tuesday:

Mostly cloudy, but some bright spells possible in the west. Coastal low cloud spreading inland at times, with a risk of further showers over Kent. Mild with light winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Often cloudy, but some sunny spells. Coastal low cloud and mist spreading inland at times, with drizzle or showers possible. Chance of overnight fog patches. Mostly mild with light winds.

UK long range weather forecast

High pressure is expected at the start of this period. Light rain and drizzle is likely in parts of the southeast and north, mainly over the higher ground. Cloud amounts will be variable but it will likely be cloudier than not for most places, although there will be some spells of sunshine. Through the end of the weekend into the following week a transition to a more changeable period will occur. Low pressure systems will likely move west across the UK in some fashion bringing spells of rain, that may be heavy at times, and periods of stronger winds. There will however likely be some drier interludes for many areas. Temperatures likely near normal for the time of year.

This period is likely to see changeable conditions across the UK with low pressure systems tending to dominate. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, perhaps heavy in places, with some strong winds also possible at times.
