Daytime showers soon fading to leave a dry evening, with some clear spells for a time. Cloud and rain, locally heavy, spreads southeastwards overnight. Breezy. Milder than Monday night. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Wednesday:

Early cloud and rain clearing to leave a largely dry day, with variable cloud and some brighter spells. Chance of a few isolated showers. Light winds. Cooler than Tuesday. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Mostly dry with sunny spells Thursday, perhaps a few light showers. Dry with hazy sunshine Friday. Band of cloud and patchy rain breaking up into showers Saturday. Temperatures near normal.

Fairly changeable at first, with cloud and rain moving slowly east across the UK, probably easing and breaking into showers as it does so, with more settled conditions developing later in the weekend away from the far northwest. Into the following week, it will most probably be high pressure dominated, with large amounts of fine weather, and perhaps the odd heavy shower, especially in the south. Any more unsettled interludes liable to be brief and mainly affecting western or northwestern UK. However, there is a small chance of an alternative scenario coming off, with cloudier and wetter weather more extensive, especially across the south and west of the UK. Winds are most likely to be light, with temperatures probably at or slightly above normal.

The period begins with the two alternate scenarios continuing, most likely widely dry and settled, but a lower chance of more unsettled and wet conditions, especially in the south and west. Towards the middle of the month signals become weak and mixed, with more balanced chances of dry / settled and wetter / unsettled conditions. But compared to the start of this period, this represents an increased chance of more unsettled / wet conditions. There is however a strong signal for temperatures to be at or above average.
