A fine and dry day with possibly some patchy cloud around at times, mostly in the northwest. Feeling very warm in the sunshine, but turning hazy later. Light winds throughout. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Tonight:

Staying mostly clear and dry with some lower cloud moving into the west later. Mist and fog developing in prone spots. Staying mild overnight. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Thursday:

A warm start to the day, but cloud and rain moves into the west through the morning. Clears eastwards into the afternoon, leaving cooler and showery weather across the region. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Remaining unsettled on Friday and Saturday with further rain at times, mainly on Saturday. Turning more showery again on Sunday. Temperatures nearer to average.

It will likely remain rather changeable during the first part of this period with showers or occasional longer spells of rain affecting many areas. Whether this takes the form of successive weather systems pushing in from the Atlantic or a more slowly evolving weather pattern remains rather unclear. There may also be some drier and brighter interludes and when winds are light, it should feel quite warm, despite temperatures most likely being close to normal for most. Later in the month more blocked weather patterns become more likely, with high pressure in the vicinity of the UK. This increases the probability of more settled weather, especially in the north but there may still be periods of rain or showers, especially in the south.

Blocked patterns with high pressure near to the UK will probably be dominant during this period with a good deal of dry weather across the UK as whole. Some unsettled interludes could develop at times, especially in the south, where rainfall amounts could be above average. Temperatures will probably be near to or slightly above normal, although some cold nights are still possible.
