Largely clear skies at first this evening but turning cloudier with showers later, these locally heavy with hail and perhaps wintry over the hills. Clear spells following through the early hours and turning cold with some patchy frost and ice. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Sunday:

Winds quickly picking up through the morning with outbreaks of rain arriving. Wet and windy through the afternoon, with heavy rain at times, perhaps easing later. Feeling quite chilly. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Remaining unsettled through this period with showers and occasionally longer spells of rain, heavy at times. The best of any drier weather on Tuesday. Often windy with temperatures near average.

Cloud and periods of wet weather will probably affect far north and north-western parts of the UK at times, particularly early in this period. Some heavy rain is possible which could be accompanied by some spells of strong winds. South of this, across the rest of the UK, it is likely to be more settled and whilst some rain can't be ruled out at times, it should be predominantly dry through this period. Winds will mainly be light and this will bring the risk of mist and freezing fog patches and overnight frosts. Overall, temperatures will probably be close to normal for most, but perhaps slightly above in the far north and northwest of the UK.

Some periods of unsettled weather are likely at first bringing spells of rain and strong winds, mainly across the north of the UK but also spreading further south at times. Toward late February, drier, more settled conditions may develop, particularly in the south but perhaps spreading further north at times. Temperatures probably close to average overall.
