Showers fading during the evening, then becoming largely dry overnight with clear spells and light winds. A notably cooler night than of late. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Friday:

Mostly dry on Friday with a good number of sunny spells. A few showers are possible, but these lighter and more isolated than on Thursday. Feeling fresher than of late. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Becoming more settled with an increasing number of sunny spells. Small chance of a shower on Saturday. Temperatures below average for August but feeling pleasant where the sunshine emerges.

Becoming more unsettled and changeable from the south at the start of this period, as showers or longer spells of rain spread north across many parts of the UK. Some heavy bursts and thunderstorms are likely at times. Thereafter, it will likely remain changeable through the rest of August and into early September, with rainfall amounts probably above average for the time year. Some drier, more settled interludes could develop at times. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or hot spells are possible, especially in the south.

Most likely changeable at first with showers or longer spells of rain across many areas, perhaps heavy and thundery in places. Further into September, drier weather may become more prevalent, especially in the south and southeast, with any more unsettled conditions tending to become confined further north and northwest. Temperatures will probably be near normal at first, but may turn warmer later with a chance of some hot periods in the south.
