A small chance of a shower this morning over the Peak District, and some cloud bubbling up elsewhere during the day. Otherwise dry with plenty of sunny spells and lighter winds than of late. Feeling pleasant in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

A fine evening with some late sunshine. Clear spells developing for a while tonight, but clouding over later in the night perhaps with a few showers. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Sunday:

Outbreaks of showery rain moving through during the morning, perhaps turning heavy at times. Becoming dry and warm in the afternoon though, with some bright spells breaking through. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Unsettled at first with spells of showery rain at times and brisk winds. Settling down by midweek though with spells of sunshine, and temperatures around the seasonal average.

Changeable initially, with some dry interludes and relatively cool nights, interspersed with occasional outbreaks of rain or showers arriving from the west, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times too. However, a trend towards more widely settled conditions seems likely from around next weekend and beyond, as high pressure becomes increasingly influential in the vicinity of the UK. This should lead to longer, drier interludes, especially in the south and southwest, with any rain or showers more likely towards the north and east. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, though still with some relatively cool nights at times.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may eventually start to weaken its influence on the weather towards the end of September. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
