Cloud and drizzly rain gradually clearing northeastwards through the night. Once it clears, drier conditions and some clearer spells possible, before further rain pushes into the southwest by dawn. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Wednesday:

Wet for much of Wednesday with rain gradually clearing to the northeast leaving some brighter periods to end the day. Initially calm, although winds picking up quickly during the morning. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Brighter skies and lighter winds Thursday. A spell of wet and very windy weather arrives overnight into Friday and continues until early Saturday when another brief settled spell returns.

Changeable and at times unsettled, with weather systems spreading in from the Atlantic. These will bring spells of rain, heavy at times, together with a risk of strong winds or gales. Between systems it will be drier and brighter with some sunshine, but also with a few showers in places. Further into the period there is a chance that the weather patterns could become more slowly evolving for a time. This may lead to more in the way of settled weather, especially in the east, but this is uncertain. Temperatures may be slightly below normal at first, but are likely to rise above average later.
