Turning increasingly unsettled with heavy spells of rain sweeping through accompanied by strong and gusty winds. A mild night with rain easing for most by dawn. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Thursday:

Any early rain clearing to leave a brief drier and brighter spell. Turning more unsettled again by the afternoon with heavy showery rain and strong blustery winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

A calmer interlude to start Friday before turning wet and windy into Saturday morning. Turning colder with a mixture of sunny spells and a few blustery showers over the weekend.

High pressure looks like largely dominating the UK's weather at first, bringing plenty of dry but rather cold weather, though a showery easterly or northeasterly flow may affect the south. Overnight frosts along with morning fog patches are probable for some regions. By the middle of next week, conditions may turn a little more unsettled for a while, with a chance of some rain moving southeast. Through to the end of this period, there is an increased chance of spells of wetter and windier weather returning, these more likely in the north with southern areas having a better chance of more prolonged drier, more settled weather. Temperatures varying around average with both some colder and milder spells likely through this period.

Mainly unsettled conditions appear likely for most, bringing a greater prevalence of rain and showers to most areas but especially towards the northwest. Some of the showers could be wintry, especially on high ground in the north. However, there are also some signs that more settled conditions are possible at times, these perhaps most likely across the south late in the month. Temperatures are likely to be around average overall, with colder interludes bringing a risk of frost and fog.
