A fine and dry end to the week.

Today:

Largely dry across the region today with some early mist patches. Sunny spells at first, but clouding over a little during the afternoon, with some spells of hazy sunshine. Less windy than Saturday. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud breaking up a little during the evening to bring some ate sunshine to end the day. Turning chilly overnight under the clear spells. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Monday:

A few early showers possible in the south, but a drier and brighter start elsewhere. Clouding over through the morning with showery outbreaks of rain possible through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Spells of rain possible at times over the next few days, but some drier, brighter and warmers intervals in between. Breezy at times and temperatures around the seasonal average.

There is the possibility of some hot and humid weather across parts of south and southeast Britain at the start of this period and with it comes the chance of a few thunderstorms too. To the northwest of here, generally more changeable at first, but there is a signal for high pressure to build more widely as we move towards the latter part of June. This could bring more widely drier, settled conditions with temperatures probably remaining above average for most. There is chance however that the hot conditions, initially in the south could either linger here or, having waned for a time, return northwards accompanied by a thunderstorm risk; this all dependent on the orientation of the aforementioned high pressure.

High pressure is expected to lie close to the UK at the start of this period, bringing largely settled and dry conditions. Temperatures will likely be above normal, with the potential for hot conditions to develop, especially in the south. Further into July, the influence of high pressure may weaken or shift more to the north or west of the UK, bringing an increasing chance of more unsettled weather and thunderstorms, especially in the south. Temperatures will probably ease back closer to normal too, although some warm and humid spells remain possible at times.
