A cloudy and often wet day ahead with some outbreaks of heavier rain possible throughout the day. Low cloud with fog likely over higher ground. Light southeasterly winds but feeling rather chilly. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud and rain gradually clearingthrough the evening, leaving drier conditions with clear spells for a time, before further cloud and rain moves in from the southwest for some by dawn. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Wednesday:

Wet and rather windy through much of Wednesday with rain gradually clearing to the northeast leaving some drier periods to end the day. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

More settled on Thursday with brighter skies and lighter winds. A spell of wet and very windy weather arrives from the southwest Friday, before turning more settled once again thereafter.

Changeable and at times unsettled, with weather systems spreading in from the Atlantic. These will bring spells of rain, heavy at times, together with a risk of strong winds or gales. Between systems it will be drier and brighter with some sunshine, but also with a few showers in places. Further into the period there is a chance that the weather patterns could become more slowly evolving for a time. This may lead to more in the way of settled weather, especially in the east, but this is uncertain. Temperatures may be slightly below normal at first, but are likely to rise above average later.
