Headline:

Warm but rather cloudy, with the odd spot of rain.

Today:

Mainly dry, but with low cloud in some coastal districts edging westwards with time, perhaps producing a little light rain at times. Brightest inland in the west, although tending to become cloudier here. Very warm and humid. Light winds throughout. Maximum temperature 28 °C.

Tonight:

Rather cloudy during the evening, with the odd spot of rain possible. Becoming drier as the night progresses, with lengthier clear periods developing in southern areas later. Very warm. Minimum temperature 16 °C.

Monday:

Mainly fine once again and increasingly hot, with some further hazy sunshine, perhaps interrupted in the west by one or two showers or possibly thunderstorms. A little breezier, but humid. Maximum temperature 30 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Temperatures climbing further, potentially becoming very hot by day, with very warm intervening nights. Mainly fine with further sunshine, however this perhaps eventually triggering thunderstorms later Thursday.

Fairly changeable conditions at first with periods of rain and showers, especially in the west, and there could be some thundery outbreaks at times. There will likely be some drier and brighter spells though. Into July changeable conditions are likely to continue as Atlantic lows move in from the west, but with transient periods of high pressure. This will lead to spells of rain and cloud interspersed with more settled periods. Temperatures remain widely above average, and the far southeast may retain some of the hot temperatures at first, but likely cooler than the preceding few days.

High pressure patterns are looking slightly more likely than low pressure patterns during this period, meaning a greater chance of settled and drier than average conditions. There is still a chance of some changeable or more unsettled conditions developing at times, with a risk of some heavy and thundery showers. Temperatures are likely to be above normal, with a greater than normal chance of hot conditions developing at times.
