Thickening cloud and outbreaks of rain edging eastwards across the Derbyshire hills overnight. However, most other places remaining generally dry with variable cloud. Winds mainly light. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Saturday:

Rain, heavy at times, across the Derbyshire hills, gradually edging eastwards but drier in eastern-most areas until later. Light, variable winds increasing later. Feeling less warm. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunday, early rain clearing to a few showers and a strong, cool northerly wind. Monday and Tuesday, mostly dry with bright spells and lighter winds. Rather cool with chilly nights.

It will be fairly settled to start the period but there will be spells or rain or showers in south and eastern areas, near to an area of low pressure. Elsewhere, some fog and frost patches are possible at times. It will also turn colder, as a northerly flow becomes established for a time. Later in the week, more widely drier and settled conditions could develop as high pressure becomes more influential, although probably still with some coastal showers. There may however be some thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain in the far northwest at times. Temperatures should gradually return closer to average in this period. Later there may be a return to a more changeable pattern but this is uncertain.

Confidence is very low in the weather regimes most likely to affect the UK during this period. On balance, there will likely be a transition from slow-moving weather patterns to a more changeable period at some stage although the timing on this is highly uncertain. High pressure probably close to the UK, which would offer some occasional periods of dry weather, will likely give way to a more unsettled period with some short lived dry interludes during this time. Temperatures will likely fluctuate either side of, but often close to, average.
