Much colder overnight compared to recently. Scattered showers, wintry on hills becoming more isolated, mainly affecting coastal districts for a time before moving offshore to leave some icy patches. Sharp frost developing widely, especially under more lasting clear periods inland. Minimum temperature -4 °C.
Starting fine and frosty, leading into a mainly sunny but cold day. Winds mostly light, increasing later as sunshine becomes hazy. Some rain and perhaps hill snow overnight. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Mainly fine Wednesday daytime after a cold start. Becoming milder but increasingly wet and windy later and into Thursday, with a second, more showery weather system following into Friday.
