Areas of fog will be slow to clear in many places on Monday, elsewhere some bright or sunny spells may develop. Light winds and slightly below average temperatures. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Cloudy but dry after early fog Tuesday slowly giving way to breezier conditions and eventual rain from the southwest, leaving Wednesday unsettled before turning drier on Thursday. Near-normal temperatures.

A few wintry showers are likely in the far north, but otherwise this will mean a spell of fine and dry weather developing for most areas at the end of next week and the weekend. Over the following week, a change to more changeable weather is likely, with Atlantic frontal systems bringing rain and some strong winds. After a cold start, temperatures will probably be above average overall.

Atlantic frontal system are likely to spread across the UK, bringing some heavy rain at times and a chance of strong winds. Drier, brighter interludes are likely between systems, and it is possible conditions could become drier overall into early December. Temperatures are likely to be above normal overall.
