A fine, dry day with plenty of sunshine, occasionally filtered by high cloud. A gentle breeze will develop in the afternoon but despite this, it will feel warm to very warm. Maximum temperature 27 °C.

Tonight:

A breezy and increasingly cloudy night, largely dry with the chance of a few spots of rain. More persistent outbreaks of rain are expected to spread southeast around dawn. Minimum temperature 14 °C.

Saturday:

Early rain will quickly clear south, leaving a bright, mostly dry morning. Sunny spells in the afternoon with the odd shower possible. Breezy, feeling warm and rather humid. Maximum temperature 26 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Rather cloudy with showers on Sunday, locally heavy. Fewer showers on Monday, with more sunny spells. Breezy throughout. A cool start on Tuesday but dry with plenty of sunshine.

Likely a fairly cool start to the period with a few showers still to clear from the east, but for most it should become fine and dry, although some chilly mornings are possible. Through the rest of the week any rain will tend to focus on the north or northwest of the country, with the south becoming predominantly dry. Temperatures are likely to remain close to, perhaps a little below average initially. However through the second half of the week and especially the following weekend there are signs that temperatures will begin to trend up, becoming warm or very warm once again, especially across southern parts of the UK, but perhaps more widely as we head toward the middle of July.

Changeable conditions with a predominantly northwest to southeast split in temperature and rainfall, and the potential for further occasional episodes of hot weather and thundery outbreaks, are considered likely to gradually give way to something more settled and dry overall through the second half of July. Temperatures are likely to be above average, with the greatest chance of very warm or hot spells in the south or southeast.
