Rise in carbon dioxide off track for limiting global warming to 1.5°C
The increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) is now incompatible with IPCC pathways which remain below 1.5°C, a Met Office study finds.

Many areas dull, dry and cloudy today. However, some persistent cloud breaks are expected east of the Peak District across the far north of Derbyshire and perhaps Nottinghamshire, leading to a locally sunny day. Mainly light winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Mostly cloudy overnight but extensively dry. Rather cold overall, with a risk of frost and perhaps a few isolated fog patches where any localised cloud breaks develop. Light winds. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
Largely cloudy at first. Cloud tending to thin and break in western areas through the day to give some sunshine, but eastern parts remain cloudier. Winds generally light. Probably dry. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Generally cloudy and cold Sunday and Monday with a risk of overnight frost and fog. Temperatures recovering by Tuesday though probably remaining largely cloudy. Widely dry with mainly light winds.
