Headline:

Some seasonally warm to very warm. Patchy afternoon rain.

Today:

Warm for central and eastern areas with some very warm. Southeast winds fresh around the coasts, pegging back temperatures around the east coast. Staying dry during the morning, then patchy rain extending from the west for the afternoon. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with some patchy light rain about, most of this during the evening and from Lough Neagh westwards. Southerly winds easing light overnight. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Wednesday:

Temperatures down from Tuesday. A rather cloudy morning with some patchy rain, then most dry for the afternoon with brighter spells developing. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Rain early Thursday, clearing to showers for the afternoon. Friday turning wet and windy with best of shelter in east. Showers Saturday, more frequent in west.

It will likely remain rather changeable during the first part of this period with showers or occasional longer spells of rain affecting many areas. Whether this takes the form of successive weather systems pushing in from the Atlantic or a more slowly evolving weather pattern is rather more unclear. Some drier, brighter interludes will also occur and when winds are light, it should feel quite warm, despite temperatures most likely being close to normal for most. Beyond mid-month, high pressure may become rather more dominant, bringing more in the way of drier and perhaps warmer weather, though this will be determined by the location and proximity of where any high is positioned relative to the UK.

High pressure will probably be the most dominant pattern during this period with a good deal of dry weather across the UK as whole. Some unsettled interludes could develop at times, but overall rainfall amounts are expected to be below average. Temperatures will probably be near to or slightly above normal, although some cold nights are still possible.
