Wet and windy with snow across the hills.
A cloudy morning, but soon turning wet and windy as a band of heavy and persistent rain spreads in from the west, falling as snow across the higher ground. Scattered showers to follow and remaining breezy, particularly across the Pennines. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Briefly settled this evening with residual showers clearing to the east, some dry spells too, but soon turning cloudy and increasingly windy overnight as Storm Éowyn arrives from the west. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
Storm Éowyn brings widespread disruption through the morning with gale force winds and heavy rain and snow for all. Brighter later, though staying windy with heavy showers in the north. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Sunny spells on Saturday, with wintry showers spreading eastwards overnight. Increasingly cloudy through Sunday with rain arriving in the southwest later, then staying unsettled with blustery, wintry showers on Monday.
