Bright or sunny spells for most areas, a scattering of showers further west and around the isles persisting through the day. Light winds and feeling quite cool even in sunshine. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

A few showers lingering otherwise dry with clear spells, feeling quite chilly. Turning cloudier later in the evening with rain spreading east later in the night. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Friday:

A wet start for most areas, rain will be heavy and persistent for a time, turning lighter for western areas by lunchtime and likely a dry and bright afternoon here. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Rather unsettled over the weekend, rain and strong winds spread east on Saturday. Showery on Sunday but accompanied by gales. Perhaps a brighter morning Monday, but further rain later.

Continuing unsettled into the early part of next week with an Atlantic frontal system expected to bring another spell of wet and windy weather. Through the course of next week, conditions likely turning less unsettled with rain and stronger winds becoming more focused on northwestern areas. Likely turning drier and calmer across the south and east bringing a greater chance of chilly nights and morning fog patches. A similar pattern then likely continuing during early November though with a chance that settled conditions may develop more widely for a time. Temperatures varying around average.

Slowly evolving weather patterns are more likely than normal during early in November which increase the chance of spells of settled and drier weather. Most areas are still likely to see some rain or showers at times but the focus of these more likely across the northwest of the UK. Into mid-November, the chances of a more unsettled weather regime increases again with more frequent spells of rain for many areas and likely windy at times. Some cold nights possible during more settled spells, otherwise temperatures likely to vary around average.
