Mainly dry with some sunny spells.

Today:

Another mainly dry day with some patchy cloud around at times but plenty of sunny spells on offer. There may just be the odd shower towards the Southern Uplands. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

It will be a dry evening and night with long clear spells leading to a fairly widespread frost. Light winds. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Saturday:

A cold clear start with a frost will lead in to a fine dry day with plenty of sunshine, with some cloud bubbling up in the afternoon. Light winds. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Bright or sunny intervals and the odd shower on Sunday. Then Monday and Tuesday dry with some sunny spells. Milder by day but some night frosts.

UK long range weather forecast

High pressure is expected to be centred to the east of the UK for much of next week. Initially there should be a good deal of dry weather with sunny spells by day, but still the potential for some chilly nights at first. Daytime temperatures will probably start around average, but gradually increase day by day. As we move towards the weekend and into the following week, we are likely to see a gradual transition to less settled conditions. So rain or showers are expected at times, mostly focussed across the south and west at first, then more widely later. With winds predominantly coming from the south or southwest it will also become much milder, possibly warm in places.
