Today:

Patches of low cloud and any fog will soon clear to leave a dry day across the region. Further cloud will feed in from the northwest during the day, though there will be some warm spells of sunshine. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

The evening looks mainly dry with a few clear intervals, though cloud will increase for a time overnight bringing patchy rain. Turning dry and a little clearer again later. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Saturday:

Early sunshine will give way to thickening cloud and outbreaks of rain on Saturday morning, accompanied by fairly brisk winds. A breezy and showery afternoon will follow. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunday will be a fresher, still breezy day with sunshine and scattered showers. Staying more changeable than of late into early next week. Some sunshine, though rain at times too.

A changeable period is likely to start, with many areas seeing a mixture of bright or sunny spells and some rain at times. Northwestern areas are more likely to see the focus of rainfall, but elsewhere outbreaks of showers or thunderstorms may interrupt the dry conditions at times elsewhere. Confidence becomes lower into the start of August, but there are hints that more settled conditions could return for a time, which would mean dry conditions resuming, especially in the south. Winds will be mostly light or moderate, but occasionally fresh or strong around some coasts, mainly in the north and west. Temperatures will be broadly above normal and will probably be warm or even hot at times in the south.

Settled and dry weather will probably dominate through much of August, especially across the south. Some spells of rain are still likely at times, especially across northern and western areas. Although many areas may see mainly dry weather for the much of the period, occasional summertime thunderstorms are possible on some days. Temperatures will very likely remain above normal, with potential for further hot spells, particularly in the south.
