Cloudy with patchy rain at first and again during the afternoon. Outbreaks of rain, heaviest over Dumfries and Galloway, spread northeast for a time in the morning. Becoming windy in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

The night will continue cloudy and mild with further outbreaks of rain, this becoming heavy at times over the hills. Windy. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Monday:

Early rain will clear east as the wind falls light in the morning. Sunny spells will increase before showers spread into the west from late afternoon. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Tuesday and Wednesday begin frosty but stay dry and sunny. The wind will strengthen on Thursday when outbreaks of rain spread east.

Much of this period looks like being largely dominated by high pressure, especially towards the south or southeast of the UK. This will mean many places seeing plenty of dry weather with variable cloud amounts and some sunshine, the best of this towards the south or southeast, but perhaps with some fog overnight. However, frontal systems are still likely to affect the north and west of the UK at times though, maybe also briefly affecting other parts, bringing some rain and strong winds, and perhaps a little snow to the high ground in the north. Temperatures will be near or above normal, although patchy overnight frost is still likely at times.

Little change at first, probably most unsettled in the west and northwest but drier and brighter toward the east and southeast. Lower confidence late-March but perhaps a trend toward more blocked and slow-moving weather patterns, although uncertain whether this will lead to cyclonic and so more unsettled weather or anticyclonic, more settled and maybe colder patterns in the vicinity of the UK. In general, some rain still probable but distribution of any wetter areas is extremely low confidence. Temperatures overall near or above average, perhaps with a slightly increasing chance this may trend colder towards the end of the month.
