This evening will be dry with cloud spreading inland across the east. Then the rest of the night will be dry and cloudy but remaining clear across Dumfries and Galloway. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Wednesday:

Dry. Rather cloudy initially in east, but sunshine across Dumfries and Galloway spreading to most late morning, but perhaps lower cloud lingering along east coast. Warm in southwest, cooler elsewhere. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Dry and settled. Overnight low cloud will mostly burn off through the mornings but may linger around the east coast. Warm in the sunshine. Patchy overnight frost.

High pressure is likely to be centred close to or over the UK through much of the period. Therefore, many places will be largely dry with some clear or sunny spells, although there may be some overnight mist and fog patches. There could, however, be some outbreaks of rain or showers at times, especially in the west and northwest. Winds will be mostly light, but may be fresher around the coasts at times. Temperatures will generally be near to or a little above normal, but there may be some colder conditions at first in the far northeast. Towards the end of the period there is a chance that conditions turn a little more unsettled.

Residual high pressure will likely give way to more unsettled conditions through the early part of the period. This will probably allow Atlantic low pressure systems to spread towards the UK, increasing the chance of periods of heavy rain and perhaps strong winds at times. Towards the middle of the month, weather patterns become increasingly uncertain; however, the wettest and windiest conditions seem most likely to be in the northwest, with the drier and more settled conditions in the southeast. Temperatures will likely be near normal.
