Cloud across Cumbria gradually breaking, with sunny spells for most by the afternoon. The outside chance of a shower later but it should be largely dry. Very warm or hot. Maximum temperature 28 °C.

Feeling fresher from Tuesday with cloudier skies bringing outbreaks of rain at times, though some brighter, drier interludes as well. Winds generally light with temperatures closer to the July average.

Generally speaking, high pressure is more likely to dominate through the first part of July, bringing plenty of fine weather, particularly across southern areas of the UK. Into the second week of the month, a gradual transition to rather more changeable conditions is forecast to take place, especially further to the northwest. Here, showers or some longer spells of rain are possible, along with breezier conditions at times. The drier, brighter and warmer conditions are more likely to hang on in southeastern areas for longer.
