A fine end to the day, with some hazy evening sunshine. Cloud increasing from the west overnight, with outbreaks of rain arriving by dawn. Mostly light winds, but winds will strengthen becoming gustier near coasts later in the night. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Monday:

Easter Monday will be a cloudier day, with outbreaks of rain moving northeastwards across all parts. Rain clearing by evening, with bright or clear spells following. Temperatures near normal. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Largely dry and bright Tuesday, before rain arrives overnight. Early rain soon clearing to leave a mixture of sunny spells and showers Wednesday. Drier and brighter Thursday. Temperatures near normal.

Most likely dry and often bright across much of the UK at the start of this period, although more cloud, and some rain are possible across western areas. Little changes through the first weekend, although the chance of a few heavy showers increases across the south. Into the following week, it will most probably be high pressure dominated, with large amounts of fine weather, and perhaps the odd heavy shower, especially in the south. However, there is a small chance of an alternative scenario coming off, with cloudier and wetter weather more extensive, especially across the south and west of the UK. Winds are most likely to be light, with temperatures probably at or slightly above normal.

The period begins with the two alternate scenarios continuing, most likely widely dry and settled, but a lower chance of more unsettled and wet conditions, especially in the south and west. Towards the middle of the month signals become weak and mixed, with more balanced chances of dry / settled and wetter / unsettled conditions. But compared to the start of this period, this represents an increased chance of more unsettled / wet conditions. There is however a strong signal for temperatures to be at or above average.
