After a bright start, cloud and outbreaks of rain, locally heavy, will spread northwards across all parts. Rain clearing my mid-afternoon, with a brief drier interlude following. Further rain arriving by evening. Winds will be strengthening. Staying mild. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Further spells of rain, locally heavy, will move northeastwards during the first part of the night. Becoming drier with some clear spells developing by dawn. Windy at first, easing later. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Wednesday:

A dry and bright start on Wednesday, with some sunny spells. Becoming increasingly cloudy with outbreaks of rain arriving from the south by the evening. Light winds. Staying mild. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Cloudy and mild with outbreaks of rain, locally heavy, on Thursday and perhaps Friday. Becoming drier on Saturday, but feeling colder, with a strong and gusty easterly wind developing.

Central and northern parts of the UK will likely be in a colder but drier regime than of late with overnight frost, and some showers near windward coasts in particular which may be wintry on high ground in the north. However, across the south it is likely to be cloudier and wetter initially, with some uncertainty as to how quickly this clears away to the south. It is most likely that the bulk of the UK will experience drier and colder conditions into the first part of next week. Later in the period there is increasing uncertainty, but a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall may return to near average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
