Dry evening with some clearer spells, mainly in the south. A band of thicker cloud will spread south overnight, perhaps with brief light rain but likely staying dry. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Saturday:

Early cloud will break to sunny spells, before further cloud spreads south through the morning, perhaps bringing a few showers. Most parts staying dry and warm. Breezy. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunny spells and showers Sunday, these perhaps heavy at times. Drier Monday, with variable cloud and sunny spells. Cloudier and breezier Tuesday, with rain across hills. Temperatures near normal.

Dry at first across the south with long sunny periods, where it will also be very warm. Cloudier in the north with some outbreaks of rain, which could be heavy in places, and temperatures nearer normal. It will probably become more changeable thereafter, with potential for an area of low pressure to move close to or across the UK at the end of July or early August. This could bring spells of heavy rain and perhaps some strong winds for a time. It may become more settled again toward the end of the first week of August.

Settled and dry weather will probably dominate through much of August, especially across the south. Some spells of rain are still likely at times, especially across northern and western areas. Although many areas may see mainly dry weather for the much of the period, occasional summertime thunderstorms are possible on some days. Temperatures will very likely remain above normal, with potential for further hot spells, particularly in the south.
